Toddler Crochet Minnie Mouse Earflap Hat

In my Minnie and Daisy quiet book page post, I mentioned that I have a toddler aged sister who loves Mickey Mouse clubhouse. Because I'm the most fabulous and awesome sister ever, I whipped up this darling Minnie Mouse hat for her! The best part? She loves to wear it!

Materials:
  • Size I crochet hook
  • Medium worsted weight yarn in white, pink, black
  • White felt cut into little circles
  • Glue Gun
  • Tapestry Needle
Notes:
  • Ch 2 does NOT count as a stitch.
  • Don't join rounds to top of ch 2. Instead, join the rounds to the 1st DC.
  • You are welcome to make and sell products from this pattern but please link back to this post. Please do not copy this pattern and claim it as your own. Please do not republish any of my photos as your own.
  • This hat fits an approximately 20-22 inch head.

Then using a tapestry needle and some of the pink yarn, I stuck my needle through the center of the rectangle.

Please excuse the blurry pics- I just snapped them with my phone!

I then wound the thread tightly around the center a few times and wove the thread into it to make it secure.

Braided tails:

I cut 3 strands approximately 19 inches in length from each color for one of the braids. Using my crochet hook, I pulled all the strands the the tip of the earflap. I braided the strands until they reached the desired length. Using a small scrap of yarn, I tied the ends secure and trimmed them!

Finishing:

Attach ears and bow. Hot glue the felt circles to the bow. Weave in all loose ends.

And there you have it! An adorable Minnie Mouse hat that would make any little girl happy :)
